State Affiliation Guidelines

The framework by which the Indian Typti Federation (ITYF) recognizes one official State Typti Association in each State and Union Territory of India, setting out eligibility, governance, membership, and reporting standards for affiliation.

1Purpose

The Indian Typti Federation (ITYF) recognizes one official State Typti Association/Federation in each State and Union Territory of India.

The purpose of recognition is to:

  • Promote Typti at the state level.
  • Ensure uniform governance throughout India.
  • Develop players from grassroots to elite competition.
  • Conduct sanctioned tournaments.
  • Certify coaches and referees.
  • Represent the interests of Typti within the respective state.

Recognition by ITYF grants the exclusive right to represent Typti within that state, subject to continued compliance with these guidelines.

2Eligibility

An applicant organization must:

  • Be legally registered in India (Society, Section 8 Company, or Trust).
  • Have Typti as one of its primary objectives.
  • Adopt the Constitution of ITYF.
  • Agree to follow all ITYF Rules & Regulations.
  • Operate on a not-for-profit basis for the promotion of the sport.
  • Maintain transparent governance.

3Name of State Body

The preferred naming convention shall be: State Name + Typti Association

Examples:

  • Tamil Nadu Typti Association
  • Karnataka Typti Association
  • Kerala Typti Association

If “Association” is unavailable, State Name Typti Federation may be permitted with prior approval.

4Executive Committee Requirements

Each State Association shall have at minimum:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Joint Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Technical Director
  • Tournament Director
  • Marketing & Development Director
  • Women Development Officer
  • Safeguarding Officer

5Governance Standards

Each State Association shall have:

  • Constitution
  • Executive Committee
  • Bank Account
  • PAN
  • Accounts
  • Annual Audit
  • Minutes of Meetings
  • Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Child Protection Policy
  • Code of Ethics
  • Disciplinary Committee

6Membership Requirements

Within 12 months of recognition, each state body should aim to have:

  • Minimum 100 Registered Players
  • Minimum 10 Certified Coaches
  • Minimum 10 Certified Referees
  • Minimum 5 Registered Clubs
  • Minimum 2 District Associations (where applicable)

These benchmarks may be adjusted based on the maturity of the sport in the state.

7Responsibilities of State Associations

Each recognized State Association shall:

  • Organize State Championships
  • Conduct District Championships
  • Promote Typti in schools
  • Promote Typti in colleges
  • Develop grassroots programs
  • Conduct coaching workshops
  • Conduct referee education
  • Promote women's participation
  • Promote para-Typti
  • Maintain rankings
  • Submit annual reports

8Tournament Obligations

Every recognized State Association shall conduct at least:

  • One State Championship annually
  • Two District Championships annually (where applicable)
  • One School Championship
  • One Coaching Workshop
  • One Referee Workshop
  • One Public Demonstration Event

9Financial Responsibilities

Each State Association shall:

  • Maintain audited accounts
  • Use federation funds only for sport development
  • Submit annual financial statements
  • Pay annual affiliation fees
  • Maintain financial transparency

ITYF reserves the right to audit affiliated state associations where necessary.

10Reporting Requirements

Every State Association shall submit:

  • Quarterly Activity Report
  • Annual Financial Report
  • Membership Statistics
  • Tournament Calendar
  • Ranking List
  • Coach List
  • Referee List
  • Development Plan

Failure to submit reports for two consecutive reporting periods may result in suspension.

11Branding Guidelines

Recognized State Associations shall:

  • Use only approved ITYF logos
  • Maintain brand consistency
  • Display ITYF recognition on official communications
  • Use approved tournament branding
  • Not alter federation logos without approval

12Player Registration

All players competing in sanctioned tournaments must:

  • Register with ITYF
  • Receive a Unique Player ID
  • Abide by the Code of Conduct
  • Maintain annual membership

13Coach Recognition

Only ITYF-certified coaches may:

  • Conduct official coaching courses
  • Represent themselves as certified coaches
  • Participate in ITYF coach development programs

State Associations shall encourage all coaches to obtain ITYF certification.

14Referee Recognition

Only ITYF-certified referees shall officiate:

  • State Championships
  • National Championships
  • Official Ranking Events
  • Sanctioned Competitions

15Equipment Standards

State Associations shall use only ITYF-approved:

  • Rackets
  • Balls
  • Nets
  • Court dimensions
  • Court markings
  • Tournament equipment

16Annual Calendar

Each State Association shall publish its calendar before the start of each competitive season, including:

  • State Championship
  • District Championships
  • School Events
  • Coach Courses
  • Referee Courses
  • Grassroots Festivals
  • Public Demonstrations

17Athlete Welfare

State Associations shall promote:

  • Fair play
  • Equal opportunity
  • SafeSport principles
  • Women's participation
  • Junior development
  • Anti-harassment policies
  • Inclusion of persons with disabilities where appropriate

18Suspension or Withdrawal of Recognition

ITYF may suspend or revoke recognition if a State Association:

  • Violates the Constitution
  • Fails to conduct activities
  • Misuses federation funds
  • Provides false information
  • Fails to comply with reporting requirements
  • Acts against the interests of Typti

Recognition may be restored after corrective action and approval by the ITYF Executive Board.

19Recognition Process

Applicants shall submit:

Recognition may be granted provisionally (e.g., one year) before full affiliation, allowing ITYF to assess performance and governance.

21Rights of Recognized State Associations

A recognized State Association may:

  • Represent Typti within its state.
  • Conduct ITYF-sanctioned competitions.
  • Nominate players to national championships.
  • Nominate candidates for coach and referee education.
  • Participate in the ITYF General Body.
  • Vote at the ITYF Annual General Meeting (subject to constitutional eligibility and compliance).
